Looking for a Derby day dessert that looks as fancy as you? You found it! This brownie trifle is easy to make and looks oh-so-impressive! Triple Crown Brownie Trifle will definitely be a hit at your Derby day party.

Here is what you need to make this delicious brownie trifle:

  • 2 18-ounce Ghirardelli Brownie Mixes plus the ingredients to make the brownies: eggs, water and vegetable oil
  • 1 3.9-ounce box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • ⅔ cups whole milk
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 8-ounce containers frozen whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Prepare brownie mixes according to package directions and pour batter into a greased 9 by 13 pan. Bake the brownies and cool completely. Once the brownies are cool, cut into small 1 inch squares.
  • In a large bowl, combine the pudding mix, milk, and sweetened condensed milk together. Mix until smooth, then fold in one of the 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.
  • In a trifle bowl or large glass bowl, place half of the brownies into the bottom of the dish. Layer half of the pudding mixture directly onto the brownies. Next, add half of the remaining container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours before serving.

Tips:

Boxed brownies are just as good, but you can use homemade brownies as well.

You also make your own whipped topping. Here’s is my go-to whipped cream recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions: Combine all the ingredients and whisk until stiff peaks form.

Notes

I prefer making my brownies and whipped cream, but either way is still delicious.
